We bought the car and collected it 5 days later. It was prepared to a good standard, was fully serviced and MOT'd and a repair that we had requested had been completed as agreed. We were very happy. The vehicle developed a small fault with its wing mirrors a few days later. I returned the vehicle to McCarthy's, they repaired it and provided us with a loan vehicle for the day. Our vehicle was fixed within 5 hours and was delivered back to our home address. Overall I am very pleased with the service we have received and I recommend McCarthy Cars on that basis.

I went to McCarthy Cars in Croydon on recommendation from a friend at work and had my heart set on a Toyota Rav4 which they had on their website. On arriving I spoke to a young guy (I can't remember his name) and he showed me the Rav 4 from the web.
I was looking for a 4X4 as I recently moved from Carshalton to Sussex and the roads are a bit rougher than London. The car seemed great on first look but then James McCarthy must have overheard my conversation with the salesman as he joined us and asked me pretty much every question about my car-needs/likes/wants you could ever imagine.
After this, he went into quite some detail about why the Rav4 with that mileage might not be ideal and pointed me towards a lower priced Suzuki Grand Vitara which was 100% a better match for me.
This was a revelation of a car with a solid history, low mileage and was so nice to drive so I didn't need to hear another word. It was so nice not to be patronised or pushed to spend more money (as I spent less than I was planning to!)
Two weeks in and I feel I have got the perfect car for me rather than just a car that does the job.

The service was ‘five stars' as usual; they even drove the car out to my home in Caterham for me to test drive, as I had a broken ankle and was unable to drive my current rover which had manual transmission. The car was then taken away to be serviced and prepared for me and delivered back to my door two days later full with fuel!!
